Headliner: Mike Mangione & The Kin
For almost a decade, Milwaukee-based artist, Mike Mangione has been writing and performing “orchestral folk music” (American Songwriter), using lush instrumentation and harmonies, bringing listeners into a place of spiritual awakening. Collectively, these songs tell the beautiful story of hope through despair. The style is as unique as the musicians that made it and as familiar as family. Like a reunion of sorts, it ebbs and flows with emotion while remaining honest and close to the heart.
Opener: Caley Conway
With infectious melody, wit, and guitar licks, Caley Conway disrupts the singer/songwriter paradigm. Distinctly rooted in folk, her inventive style ranges from jazz to post-rock. The Milwaukee native is credited with becoming “the next big thing in folk music,” by No Depression Magazine. Her 2016 full-length, Silk for Life, was hailed “an ambitious piece that puts Conway on the map for 2017,” by Paste Magazine.
