Tosa Tonight is happy to announce that Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) has joined our roster of Presenting Sponsors. So appropriate then to have them present two Wisconsin bands on July 16th: Chicken Wire Empire with special guests The Big Heart Kind.
WPR’s news, music, conversation and entertainment programs inform, inspire and build communities throughout Wisconsin and around the world on two networks — WPR News and WPR Music — and 39 stations. Their commitment to the highest standards of news and cultural content reflects their belief that people and communities thrive with an open exchange of ideas and information.
Thank you for joining us, Wisconsin Public Radio.
Starting out the night will be The Big Heart Kind. The Big Heart Kind are a folk trio from Milwaukee featuring Maximiano, Dandy L. Freling, and Kati Katchever. Braiding their voices into something you can take comfort in, the trio brings their love of poetry, harmony, and folk music to the stage.
The Big Heart Kind is a perfect opener for the Milwaukee-based, but internationally famous contemporary Bluegrass band Chicken Wire Empire.
Chicken Wire Empire blazes their own path in bluegrass music. Rooted in the Wisconsin bluegrass scene, the band brings a passionate energy to the most beloved elements of bluegrass. Led by a lifetime of dedicated musicianship, CWE’s edge-of-your-seat liveliness is a nod to bluegrass history and the soul of their original sound.
We can’t wait to welcome Wisconsin Public Radio as Presenting Sponsors for this long overdue night of contemporary folk and bluegrass music. What a night it is going to be!
