Get your party on and prepare for the Independence Day Holiday at Tosa Tonight with a couple of local favorites: Böckenpläutz and The 5 Card Studs! Then stay for the drone show (fireworks will be on July 4th). Both the concert and drone show will be presented by Wauwatosa Civic Celebration. (The parade is on July 4th.)

First, Böckenpläutz. We’re pleased to finally welcome these local fellows to Tosa Tonight, but… where’d that name come from? It’s a combination of members’ last names: Bock and Plautz. Calling themselves “Milwaukee’s hardest-working superior acoustic power pop outfit,” they play all of their tunes according to the stringent rock purity standards established in the 1516 German Music Purity Law, aka the Rockheitsgebot. Their performances contain three and only three pure ingredients: Acoustic Instruments, Tight Harmonies, and GUSTO.

You might need a cold one after that and Tosa Tonight has got you covered: visit one of our sponsor vendors at intermission and get hydrated. You’re going to need that hydration because few ever rest when they’re rockin’ out with the night’s next performers: The 5 Card Studs!

The 5 Card Studs are a group of veteran players whose diverse backgrounds combine to bring subtlety and precision to top 40 A.M. Gold hits and forgotten favorites. Their love and respect for music’s artistic anomalies comes through in their deftly-executed renditions of songs whose performers you might not remember, but the tunes you sure will.

The Studs pride themselves on their attention to detail with guitar sounds meticulously perfected, string and horn parts not ignored, and vocals — well, you need to hear ‘em to believe ‘em! There’s a reason this band opens for legends when they come through town.

Rest your tired dancing legs on a blanket or chair and get ready for the drone show which will be sure to light up the sky like our namesake fireflies do!
